This place ain't fit for your worst enemy. I was so upset how the staff in the emergency room behaved. Was totally uncalled for.
The nurses were kind but overall , disconnected. Most of my techs were good, however, there is no reason to make someone wait over 20 minutes to go to the restroom. I had knee replacement and could not do some things for myself..or I wasn't supposed to. Bed was very uncomfortable but the staff did not care. Overall, surprised not happy.
I went to the ER in mid-August and I have to be in pretty bad pain to go to the ER, I was hoping that if I went to the ER I wouldn't be leaving in pain! I really should have left the ER as soon as I got there and went somewhere else, but I was in pain and felt like I was going to pass out. I found that their check in process of having you sit with the nurse and answering all of her questions about your medical history, behind the lady that checks you in and has the window open where anyone can hear what's going on with you, unprofessional. When I went to a room they asked me to go to the bathroom and when I opened the bathroom door there was a half naked patient in there! I asked where another bathroom was, but they told me to just wait on him. When I went in there I found there was only one sample cup left and then there was nowhere other than the nasty floor to sit it down on! Since the guy took forever in the bathroom, I missed the doctor coming in to see me, but when I got back to the room, the doctor took forever to come see me! I saw a billing department rep before I even saw a doctor, so that should've been my first tip that they were concerned more about my money than my health. I think I saw the doctor twice, one time it was because I requested it because he failed to answer my questions. The doctor acted like he didn't want to deal with me and when I requested him to come back he acted like he was irritated about it. The first nurse that came in to see me was very nice and professional, she was the only positive part of my visit! The second nurse that discharged me from the ER couldn't really answer my questions and seemed more concerned about getting me out the door. The ER tech that took care of me that night seemed nice at first, but really made me mad when she made comments about me so loud that anyone walking by the radiology/sonography department could hear! Patient privacy must not be part of their practices there, the doctor didn't even close the door when he finally came to see me. I should've risked puking in the car to go to an ER at another hospital in Dallas, but I was being considerate of my mom's car and didn't want her to deal with that, and I expected better care from a Baylor Scott & White hospital. I will never go back to a BSW facility or take anybody that I love and care about to one either!
I am in the medical field. It was my first time to every go to an emergency room. It was terrible. I was experiencing abdominal pain. The check in people were great. Once I got to the back and checked in by the nurse. I was saw by a nurse practitioner who was very unprofessional. I waited for an hour and half. No one came to check on me. I finally got dressed saw my nurse and told her to come pull my IV that I was leaving. I began to cry because of the pain I was experiencing, she apologized because they were busy. She finally got me to radiology. The radiology tech was awesome. Finally, the nurse practitioner came back to tell me it was probably a ruptured cyst and oh by the way you have a lesion on on a bone it may or may not be cancerous, you should probably get that checked out. I asked for the radiology report to take To take to my internist , he said no ask medical records. Then he left. He was uncaring and very unprofessional. I have always taught my trainees to treat patients like they would want their family members treated. I will not ever recommend this ER to anyone. I should have also been seen by an MD. You don't tell someone they have a lesion that may or may not be cancerous and send them on their way. This is bad patient care.
This was by far the worst er visit I have ever had. Will never return. Check in nurse Kate was the only one there with manners. Waiting for a room for hours. The list goes on and on. I asked for the complaint line number and they wouldn't give it to me. I will be finding that number and also calling my insurance company. Discharge paperwork had wrong reason for visit.
